Recipient of the 2010 Orbitz “Best in Stay” designation and the 2007 and 2009 Expedia “Insiders Select” award, the Mountain Thunder Lodge, in Breckenridge, Colorado, is one of this former mining town’s most luxurious and conveniently located ski-in/gondola out properties. This beautiful Demeure property, consisting of two adjacent two bedroom condominiums called the “Summit Suites,” can comfortably accommodate up to 14 guests.

Originally two separate two-bedroom condominiums, units 1105 and 1106, the units are next to each other on the first floor of the main building and share a private common entrance. They have been combined to create a large four bedroom suite which can accommodate large groups or extended families in great comfort and and privacy, with more than 2,100 square feet of living area. There are two spacious living rooms, each fitted with a queen-sized sofa bed and each with its own balcony, offering views of the mountain and the charming town of Breckenridge. Two kitchens, two dining areas (one seating four, and one seating six, both with breakfast bars separating kitchens from living areas), four bedrooms and four bathrooms complete each unit.

The sitting rooms in each unit feature a moss rock “auto start” gas fireplace, flanked by comfortable seating groups and featuring 25” screen televisions with cable channels. Each unit has a DVD player and wireless internet access. Both kitchens feature granite countertops, and are equipped with quality appliances, including a four-burner “flat top” electric range, microwave, oven, dishwasher, pots, pans, dinnerware and glassware.

There are two master bedrooms, each fitted with a king-sized bed and ensuite bathroom featuring a walk-in shower. Each unit also has one large bedroom with two queen-sized beds, and a fourth bedroom with a queen. Each of the bedrooms has a television with cable discretely housed in an armoire. There is one additional bathroom with tub and shower in each unit, for a total of four in the suite.  Parking is available in the building’s subterranean garage, with elevator access to the suite.

Guests at Mountain Thunder Lodge also have access to the owners’ lounge, well-equipped workout facilities, ski lockers and hot tub at the Lodge. The adjacent Four O'Clock Run development also offers a bowling alley, aquatic center and media and billiards rooms. There is also a winter terrain park on the mountain, a world famous ice sculpture competition, sleigh-riding, an ice arena, cross-country ski trails, snowshoeing and even ice fishing on nearby Lake Dillon.

Known for its world class skiing, both on Breckenridge mountain and at neighboring resorts within the Vail Resorts “family” (by virtue of a multi-location single ski pass), Breckenridge is equally famous for the charm and authenticity of the former mining town itself, where gold was discovered in 1859. The Lodge is within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants on Main Street and the Riverwalk Center, where you will find a broad selection of restaurants, shops, galleries and services. The nightlife in Breckenridge reflects both its historic roots as a raucous western mining town, and its more recent reputation as a haven for winter sports enthusiasts from around the world, who are drawn by Breckenridge’s average annual snowfall of 300 inches of feather-light powder and 300 days a year of blue skies and sunshine.
  • The location of the Mountain Thunder Lodge is simply extraordinary--ideally located next to a quiet forest and offering ski-in/gondola-out access to skiing via the BreckConnect high-speed gondola.
  • Also take advantage of the complimentary shuttle services to the Resort’s base lifts.
  • Thanks to North America’s highest chairlift, much of the alpine ski terrain is above tree line, with wide open bowls and spectacular views.
